On behalf of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Justice and Migration (MJ BW), Westernacher Solutions was responsible for the creation, further development and quality assurance of S.A.F.E. for several years. The project focus was on the comprehensive administration components for identities, users and roles.
The S.A.F.E. standard supported by the IT Planning Council makes it possible to operate federated and cross-border identity management. Interoperability with other service account solutions is implicitly taken into account in the implementation carried out by Westernacher Solutions in accordance with the Online Access Act (OZG) and the eIDAS Regulation. This ensures uniform, centralized access to electronic identities, profiles and authorizations for citizens, the administration and companies.
Westernacher Solutions has provided the individual administration components (access administration, identity administration, role administration) as part of the service provision and successively expanded, optimized or adapted existing functions, depending on customer requirements.
For the MJ BW, S.A.F.E. is a secure system with distributed components for identity and authorization management. In the project, technical requirement blocks such as the introduction of temporary identities, the implementation of representative mailboxes and the connection of autonomous modules to S.A.F.E. (e.g. country-specific user databases) were realized.
