In addition to public administration and the judiciary, we also support the church organizations in digitizing its processes and administration. To this end, we began developing the ISIDOR software solution 15 years ago, which helps church institutions to digitally display structures, personnel directories, processes and networks.
We have now been able to convince an order of our services for the first time. The Central European Province of the Jesuit Order would like to regularly create and print the so-called “catalog”, a central directory document, with our product ISIDOR.
The Jesuits have almost 15,000 members and are divided into 64 provinces worldwide. One focus of the work is on education. The Order runs colleges and universities, high schools and other schools all over the world. In total, around three million students are educated in the order’s schools. Other important tasks of the Jesuits are the spiritual guidance of lay people as well as social and refugee work. The latter in particular has become increasingly important in recent years.
At the start of the collaboration, we held two workshops to familiarize ourselves with the requirements of the religious province and the existing data systems. From this, the special version of ISIDOR for religious communities has been developed in order to take over the data from the predecessor system and manage it in our software.
With the development of ISIDOR for the Jesuit order, we can now offer another specialized version of our church solution that is tailored to the needs of religious orders. This cooperation opens up another new chapter for us, as the Jesuit Order in the Central European Province includes Sweden and the Baltic countries of Lithuania and Latvia in addition to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In addition to the introduction and support of our ISIDOR solution for the Diocese of Innsbruck in Tyrol, Austria, the introduction for the Jesuit Order offers a further internationalization of our services and represents an important step for Westernacher Solutions.
There are already other interesting potential uses of ISIDOR for the Jesuit order. For example, the connection to systems of other provinces of the order, connection to data of the order’s headquarter in Rome, the mapping of central mail and e-mail distribution lists of the Jesuits in ISIDOR or, for example, the representation of the order’s institutions in geoinformation systems.
