Based on this feedback, we were awarded the “Top Company” seal. We talked to Stefanie-Kristin Krüger, Recruiting Manager at Westernacher Solutions, about what we do to achieve this and why it is important to us.

What distinguishes Westernacher Solutions from other IT service providers?

Westernacher Solutions is an agile medium-sized company that develops sustainable and socially relevant products in the public sector. We see ourselves as a driving force for digitalization in public administration, the justice system and for the church. Three sectors that face major challenges that we understand. We advise and can implement topics. We take a holistic approach to processes.

The second thing that makes us different is that Westernacher is wholly owned by its active employees. Our philosophy “Westernacher starts with We” is reflected in harmonious cooperation with our colleagues, service providers and clients. Openness and honesty are essential values. Despite its growth, Westernacher retains its family atmosphere and community culture. This combination makes us special.

What does the recruiting process look like? Simply explained.

We divide the recruiting process into 3 phases.

  • Telephone interview
    In this meeting, which lasts about half an hour, we try to assess whether we are a good match.
  • Skill Interview
    In the second phase, we have a one-hour discussion with each other that focuses on professional skills.
  • Personal Interview
    In the final step, we attach particular importance to meeting applicants in person and gaining a comprehensive picture of their qualifications and personality. However, applicants should also get a comprehensive picture of us and their potential future job, as we see the application process as a mutual opportunity to get to know each other as equals.
Which applicants are we looking for?

We are looking for applicants who are not only professionally competent, but also share our corporate values. Ideally, you will have a proactive way of working, team spirit, the ability to continuously develop and an interest in IT and digitalization. We value diversity, welcome different perspectives and want to see personality. It is important to us that applicants are motivated to contribute to our team and work together on innovative solutions. Or … to grow and become better.

Your personal highlight at Westernacher Solutions?

I have particularly fond memories of the Company Meeting in December, which ended with a great Christmas party. We meet twice a year at our headquarters in Kreuzberg. This not only offers a very good opportunity for a business update of the individual business areas, which is very exciting, but also creates a platform for personal encounters.

Until then, I had only known many of my colleagues virtually. The opportunity to meet them in person and exchange ideas was very valuable for me.

The absolute highlight was the Christmas market on our roof terrace. The festive atmosphere and the delicious, typical food at a Christmas market made the day extra special.

The Top Company seal proves that we obviously communicate honestly with employees, are able to listen and are constantly developing. Striving for improvement is an important value for us and we are all the more pleased that we are one of the approximately 5% of employer profiles to be awarded this seal.

Why this seal is so important to us is also due to the criteria, which are redefined every year. The award is presented on the basis ofindependent employee evaluations and the award criteria are transparent for both companies and job seekers. The number and timeliness of the ratings are also taken into account as additional criteria.

When analyzing all the data, kununu determined that companies with the Top Company seal score particularly well in the area of “career/training”. Supervisor behavior is rated significantly better and in the category of working atmosphere, award-winning companies have a lead of 0.8 stars over companies without the seal. For us, these categories are also high up in our canon of values and prove to us that we understand what is important to employees.
